Description
The Aviator Large Metal is the teardrop Ray-Ban drew in 1937 for pilots, and it is still built on the same lines: a fine wire frame, a double bridge and very little weight on the face.
This pair is matte gold, warm rather than shiny, running from the rims through the bridge to the temples, with beige temple tips and nose pads to match.
The lenses are a brown gradient, deep brown along the brow and easing to a lighter, warmer tone towards the bottom edge, so the shade sits where the sun comes from. Brown on gold keeps the whole pair in one warm register. They are not polarised, and this colourway comes in a 55mm and a 58mm lens width.
