Description
The Aviator Large Metal is the 1937 original, drawn for pilots and still made on the same lines: teardrop lenses, a double bridge and a thin wire frame.
This one is polished silver from the rims through to the temples, with black temple tips and clear adjustable nose pads. Silver keeps it cool and neutral, a quieter take than the gold the Aviator is usually seen in.
The lenses are a grey gradient, darkest along the brow and easing to near clear at the bottom edge with a faint warm cast, so the shade sits where the sun comes from and the lower half stays easy to see through. They are not polarised. This colourway comes in the 55mm lens only, the smaller end of a Large Metal range that also runs in 58mm and 62mm.
