Description
The Aviator Large Metal is the teardrop Ray-Ban drew in 1937 for pilots, and the parts that matter have barely moved since: a fine wire rim, a double bridge and a frame with very little to it.
This is the photochromic one. Arista Gold, a polished warm gold, runs through the rims, the bridge and the temples, with clear temple tips and adjustable nose pads on fine wire arms. The Clear Grey lens is marked Evolve and starts close to clear indoors, with a faint warm cast, then darkens to grey as it picks up sunlight. It is not polarised.
One lens width in this colourway, 55mm, the smaller end of a Large Metal range that also runs in 58mm and 62mm. The frame is metal and the lenses block 100% of UV.
