Description
The New Wayfarer is the softened reworking of the 1952 original. The front is a little smaller, the corners are rounder and there is less of the forward tilt that made the first Wayfarer such a statement, which is why this is the version most people find easiest to live in.
Rubber black takes the shine off the frame completely. The matte finish runs across the front, the temples and the tips, broken only by the silver rivets at the end pieces and the white Ray-Ban signature on each arm.
The lens is a soft slate blue rather than a bright one, dark enough for full sun and closer to grey than to true colour, so it stays quiet against the black. The frame is nylon with the keyhole bridge carried over from the original, and it comes in two widths.
