Description
Blue on clear is a two-layer frame: a deep blue top layer over transparent plastic. Head on it reads as solid blue, but turn it and a thin band of clear shows along the edges of the rims and arms, and the end pieces are see-through, so the silver hinges show straight through.
The lens is a grey gradient, darkest across the brow and easing lighter towards the bottom edge. Grey is the neutral tint, so it takes the brightness down without shifting colours and keeps the blue as the focus. It is not polarised.
The shape is the New Wayfarer, Ray-Ban's smaller, rounder-cornered reworking of the 1952 Wayfarer, in nylon with the keyhole bridge and silver rivets at the corners. It comes in one lens width, 55mm.
