Description
The New Wayfarer is the 1952 shape with the angles taken off. Ray-Ban narrowed the front, softened the corners and pulled the browline back, so it sits closer to the face and reads smaller than the original even at the same lens width. For most people it is the easier of the two to wear.
This is the plain black colourway with the G-15 Green lens, the classic Ray-Ban green that holds colours close to true rather than warming the view. Gloss black runs through the front, the temples and the tips, broken only by a silver rivet at each corner and the Ray-Ban wordmark on the arm.
The frame is nylon, a lighter build than the acetate the original Wayfarer is cut from, and this one is the 55, the larger of the two widths the New Wayfarer is made in. Not polarised.
