Description
The New Wayfarer takes the 1952 Wayfarer and eases it off a little. The front is slightly smaller, the corners are rounder and the forward tilt is gentler, so the shape everyone knows is easier to wear every day.
This is the Black On Transparent colourway, gloss black layered over clear. Head on it reads as a black Wayfarer, but a clear edge runs along the lower rim and down both arms, the inside of the frame is see-through, and the metal hinge cores show through the clear end pieces.
The lenses are Green Classic G-15, the classic Ray-Ban green that takes the brightness down without shifting colours. They are polarised, so the glare coming off water, wet roads and windscreens is cut rather than just dimmed, and the Ray-Ban script on the lens carries a small P to mark it. The frame is nylon, made in Italy, in the 55mm lens width.
