Description
The Wayfarer arrived in 1952 and has barely changed since, which is why the shape still reads as shorthand for a pair of sunglasses. The Mega Wayfarer II takes the same angled trapezoid front and scales it up, so the brow sits higher and the lens covers more of the face.
Striped Havana is the tortoise reading, but a warmer one than most. The grain runs in long bands of reddish brown and amber rather than the usual mottled blotch, and because the pattern is directional it shifts as the light moves across the front.
Dark grey lenses sit behind it, flat rather than graduated, so the colour on the frame does the work and the lens stays neutral. Grey keeps what you are looking at close to its true colour, which is the point of pairing it with a front this warm.
