Description
The Wayfarer arrived in 1952 and has barely changed since, which is why the shape still reads as shorthand for a pair of sunglasses. The Mega Wayfarer II takes the same angled trapezoid front and scales it up, so the brow sits higher and the lens covers more of the face.
The grey here is a transparent smoke rather than a solid, so the frame keeps the weight of a thick acetate front without the heaviness that comes with a block colour. Silver rivets at the temples and the Ray-Ban logo plate along each arm.
The lenses are a clear gradient blue, strongest across the top and fading out to almost nothing at the bottom edge. It is a softer way to wear a blue lens than a flat tint, and the gradient keeps your eyes visible rather than hidden.
