Description
This is the black and green Wayfarer with a polarising filter in the lens, the version worth having if you spend time on the water, on the road or anywhere the glare comes back at you off a flat surface.
The Mega Wayfarer II is the scaled-up take on the 1952 original. Same angled trapezoid front and forward-raked temples, wider through the brow and deeper through the lens, so it covers more of the face without losing the lines that made the shape. Gloss black frame, silver rivets, the Ray-Ban logo plate along each arm and a small P beside the signature on the right lens marking the polarised build.
Polarisation cuts the horizontal glare bouncing off water, wet road and car bonnets, which a plain tint cannot do no matter how dark it goes. Underneath it the green is Ray-Ban's original sun tint, the one they have run since the 1937 aviator lens.
