Description
Black frame, green lenses. This is the Wayfarer as it was in 1952 and as it still is, the pairing that made the shape famous and the one most people picture when they picture a pair of sunglasses.
The Mega Wayfarer II is the scaled-up version. Same angled trapezoid front, same forward-raked temples, but wider through the brow and deeper through the lens, so it sits bolder on the face without losing the original lines. The glossy black picks up the light along the top edge and the silver rivets read against it.
Green was Ray-Ban's original sun tint, going back to the aviator lens they built for the US Army Air Corps in 1937, and it has stayed on the Wayfarer ever since.
