Description
The Wayfarer arrived in 1952, and the RB2140 is the one that holds the original proportions: the canted browline, the sharp outer corners, the wide temples that taper to a point.
This is Havana with blue lenses. The tortoise is a warm reddish brown mottled with amber, finished with silver rivets at each hinge, and the lens is a flat, muted slate blue with no gradient and no mirror, so it reads cool against the warm frame. It is not polarised.
It comes in two widths, the 50 and the 52. The 50 photographed here reads RB 2140 1463/R5 50 22 150 3N inside the arm, and the 3N confirms a category 3 tint with no polarising filter.
