Description
The Wayfarer arrived in 1952 and the RB2140 is the one that kept the original proportions: the canted browline, the sharp outside corners, the wide temples that taper to a point. Gloss black acetate, silver rivets, nothing added.
The lens is where this one differs from the standard black Wayfarer. It is a gradient, dark grey across the top and fading to almost clear along the bottom edge, so the eyes stay visible and the frame reads lighter on the face than a flat dark lens would. Better suited to town than to open water.
Not polarised, and the colour code is 901/32, which is the one to quote if you are comparing it against the plain grey and green Wayfarers alongside it.
