Description
The HSTN is a round frame with a flat, faceted top: each rim is cut straight across the brow with angled shoulders, and a slim bar joins the two at brow height. Behind the hinge the arms step down in a sharp zigzag before running back to the ear, so the side view is as considered as the front.
Matte Carbon is a dark charcoal across the brow and the front of each arm, set over translucent smoke grey through the lower rims and the rear of the arms, with a grey Oakley icon on a dark plate. Prizm Ruby is a red mirror through the middle that runs to orange at the edges, reading a warm bronze from behind. Prizm is Oakley's contrast-tuning lens technology, so detail stays separated in bright light rather than flattening out.
The frame is O Matter, Oakley's own lightweight frame material, with nose pads set into the inner rims, and the lens measures 52mm across. The lens is not polarised.

About Oakley
Oakley started in 1975 in Jim Jannard's California garage, selling motocross grips made from a material he invented and named Unobtanium. Grips became goggles, goggles became sunglasses, and by the 1990s designs like the Eye Jacket and M Frame had rewritten performance eyewear.
