Wally's eyewear edit covers premium sunglasses from labels that understand proportion, quality and design. Eyewear is one of those purchases that shapes how you look every day, so we take the selection seriously: a tight range of brands, each chosen for a reason, stocked in the frames and colourways we would wear ourselves. Shop in store at 53 Hurstmere Road, Takapuna, or online at wally.co.nz with free NZ delivery over $80.

Sunglasses by brand

Ray-Ban for the icons: Wayfarer, Clubmaster and Aviator, plus the new generation of bio-based frames like the Zuri, Zaya and Brunel and the sculptural Puffer series. Oakley for retro-future shapes and Prizm lens tech, led by the Eye Jacket Redux and backed by the Terraforma, Cage Jacket and Wire Tap 2.0. Le Specs Luxe for elevated materials and refined silhouettes from Australia's most-loved eyewear brand. Isle of Eden, Luv Lou and Lu Goldie for acetate frames with softer, everyday shapes.

New to either brand? Start with our Ray-Ban NZ guide or our guide to the Oakley Eye Jacket Redux on the Wally Journal.

Polarised, Prizm and lens categories

Every pair we sell has 100% UV protection. Polarised lenses go a step further and cut reflected glare off water, glass and road, which is worth having on Auckland's harbour and beaches. Oakley's Prizm lenses are tuned to sharpen contrast in specific light rather than just darkening the view, and some Prizm lenses are polarised as well. Most sun lenses are category 3, built for bright daylight; a lighter category 2 tint suits overcast days, and category 4 is for snow and high altitude only.

Sunglasses FAQ

Can I try sunglasses on before I buy?
Yes, anything on our shelves at 53 Hurstmere Road, Takapuna, open seven days. Ray-Ban and Oakley frames marked Special Order aren't in the shop, we order them in from the brand for you and they usually arrive in 1 to 2 weeks, occasionally up to 3. If we have the same model on the shelf in another colour, that's the easiest way to check the fit. Online orders can be returned or exchanged if the fit is not right.

Are you an authorised stockist?
Yes. Our Ray-Ban and Oakley stock comes through the brands' official New Zealand distributor, and every other label is bought direct from the brand.

How do I find a specific Ray-Ban or Oakley model?
Every product page lists the brand's style code under Fit, RB2140 901 50 or OO9438 943801 58 for example. Search the model number on our site, or bring the code in store.

Do sunglasses come with a case?
Yes. Ray-Ban and Oakley frames ship in the brand's own case with a cleaning cloth.
