Description

The Wayfarer Classic has been in production since 1952 and the shape has barely moved: a trapezoidal acetate front, tilted temples and metal rivets at the hinge.

This is grey havana, a cool-toned tortoise rather than the usual warm brown, with polarised Chromance lenses in silver and blue. Chromance is Ray-Ban's high-contrast polarised lens, so glare off water and road drops away and colours stay separated rather than washing out.

It comes in the 50mm lens width, the smaller of the two Wayfarer Classic sizes.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
