Description

The RB3778 is a slim metal rectangle with a double bridge, a straight bar running across the brow line above the nose. The rims are thin wire, the lenses are long and shallow, and the metal endpieces run a short way along the arms before handing over to the temples.

This is the Gunmetal colourway, a cool grey metal front with grey tortoise temples and the Ray-Ban script on each metal endpiece, paired with polarised dark blue lenses. The blue is muted and even, closer to slate than a bright blue, with no gradient or mirror.

It comes in two lens widths, 57mm and 60mm. The frame is metal, and the lens is a category 3 tint, polarised to cut glare off water, roads and glass.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
