Description

The polarised tortoise New Wayfarer, in a single width. The frame is the warm mottled brown, the lens is G-15 green, and there is a polarising filter sitting behind the tint.

Polarised is worth the difference if you spend time near water or driving into low sun. The filter takes out reflected glare that a plain tint can only dim, so you get contrast and depth back rather than a flat bright wash. POLARIZED is printed along the top of the right lens.

The frame is gloss nylon and the lens sits at 55mm, the middle of the three New Wayfarer widths.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
