Description

The Bill Max takes the aviator and squares it off. A straight brow bar sits above a second, lower bridge with an open cut-out between them, and the full metal rims hold lenses that are flat along the top and rounded below.

This is the most detailed Bill Max we carry. The gold has a soft satin finish rather than a high shine, four small studs run across the brow bar, and a fine engraved pattern covers the bridge and carries along the outer arms. A small diamond motif sits on the right lens, and the temple tips are a translucent sage green, each set with a round gold medallion.

The lens is a solid green with no gradient or mirror, and the stamp inside the arm marks it 2N, a lighter category 2 tint that is not polarised. The frame is metal, made in Italy, with adjustable nose pads, and it comes in one lens width, 59mm.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
