Description
The Aviator Large Metal is the 1937 original, made for pilots and still built the same way: teardrop lenses, a double brow bar and a wire frame with almost no weight to it.
Silver front and temples with grey lenses and black tips, a cooler and more neutral read than the gold and green the model is usually seen in.
This colourway comes in the 62mm lens only, the widest fit in the Aviator range, on a metal frame with 100% UV protection.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
