Description
The Large Metal is the full-size Aviator, the teardrop Ray-Ban drew in 1937 for US Army Air Corps pilots and has kept in production ever since.
Gunmetal here is a proper dark grey, quieter than the polished gold and silver the Aviator is usually seen in. It runs across the wire rims, the double bridge and the temples, finished with black temple tips and clear adjustable nose pads.
The lenses are a light brown gradient, deepest along the top edge and fading to a pale amber at the bottom, so they take the glare off the sky and leave the ground in front of you clear.
