Description

The Alix is a rimless shield: one flat panel of lens running right across the face, cut square at the outer corners, with nothing holding it but the bridge and two thin metal arms.

This is the gunmetal colourway with a red lens. The tint stays translucent rather than reading as a solid block, and the gunmetal hardware keeps the frame quiet underneath a loud lens colour.

The frame is metal throughout, and with no rim around the lens the only structure is the bridge and the temples.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
