Description

The Turbine is Oakley's bigger, squarer wrap: a thick-rimmed frame with a curve through the front and long tapered temples, cut to hold its position rather than to sit quietly.

The camo here is tonal, black on black across the front and the temples, so from any distance it reads as a plain matte black and only shows itself up close. The Oakley icon on the temple is silver and OAKLEY is debossed further back.

Lenses are polarised Prizm Deep Water, Oakley's open water lens, a pale blue mirror that reads copper from behind, with the polarisation taking the glare off the surface.

About Oakley
Oakley started in 1975 in Jim Jannard's California garage, selling motocross grips made from a material he invented and named Unobtanium. Grips became goggles, goggles became sunglasses, and by the 1990s designs like the Eye Jacket and M Frame had rewritten performance eyewear. The obsessions have never changed: material science and optics, from O Matter frames to Prizm lenses tuned to sharpen contrast in specific conditions. Worn at the highest level of sport and collected well beyond it.
