Description
The RB2229 is a shield. One piece of lens runs the full width of the face, flat across the top and curved at the outer edges, held in a rim that carries it rather than splitting it into two.
The frame is a frosted see-through clear, not a glassy transparent, so it reads closer to white than to invisible and the wire core shows through the temple. Against it the lens is a solid mid blue: Blue Urban Storm Polarized S, a contrast-tuned tint with a polarising filter, so it holds definition in bright light rather than just dimming everything. The Ray-Ban signature sits on a small black plaque on each arm and a P is printed beside the wordmark on the lens.
Because it is a single shield rather than a pair of lenses there is no lens width or bridge measurement to quote. What the RB2229 does carry, stamped inside the bridge, is the temple length, and on this size code that is 129mm.
