Description

The Mega Wayfarer is the 1952 Wayfarer scaled up, heavier through the rim and wider across the front, silver rivets carried over.

This is warm tortoise with Bottle Green lenses, a pale green rather than a dark one, so the lens stays light and your eyes still read through it. Against a frame this size that lightness does a lot of work. The frame is propionate, which keeps the weight down.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
