Description

The Turbine is Oakley's bigger, squarer wrap: a thick-rimmed frame with a curve through the front and long tapered temples, cut to hold its position rather than to sit quietly.

Worth being plain about this one before you order. The lens is clear, completely untinted, so it darkens nothing. You get the Turbine's coverage and its UV filtering with your eyes still visible behind it, which is the point of a clear lens rather than an oversight.

The frame is matte black in O Matter, Oakley's own frame material, with the Oakley icon set into each temple.

About Oakley
Oakley started in 1975 in Jim Jannard's California garage, selling motocross grips made from a material he invented and named Unobtanium. Grips became goggles, goggles became sunglasses, and by the 1990s designs like the Eye Jacket and M Frame had rewritten performance eyewear. The obsessions have never changed: material science and optics, from O Matter frames to Prizm lenses tuned to sharpen contrast in specific conditions. Worn at the highest level of sport and collected well beyond it.
