O Te Rā Discovery Set - 4 x 5ml Extrait de Parfum

Four 5ml bottles covering the full O Te Rā range, one for each phase of the sun. All four are extrait de parfum, the same concentration as the full bottles, so this is the range at proper strength rather than a set of samples.

Te Whitinga o te Rā is the sunrise, green juniper and cypress over leather, honey and amber. Te Poupoutanga o te Rā is midday, a big white floral of jasmine and tuberose turning creamy on coconut and tonka. Te Tōnga o te Rā is the sunset, bitter orange and cypress softening into vanilla and chestnut cream. Te Pō is the night, milk and cardamom over iris, sandalwood and white musks.

At this price it is the sensible way into a house where a full bottle runs to $280 or more. Four scents is enough to work out which one is actually yours, and 5ml is a real amount to wear rather than a paper strip in a shop. It also makes a straightforward gift for someone who reads fragrance seriously, without having to guess their taste.

About O Te Rā

O Te Rā is a New Zealand fragrance and art house built by three friends who met playing rugby in the United Kingdom. Gregory Sebastien, born in Martinique and raised in Lyon, trained in Grasse and composes the fragrances. Maia Gibbs, a ta moko and contemporary artist from Tūranganui-a-Kiwa, shapes the visual language. James Penman, from West Tāmaki Makaurau, holds the story together. The range follows the sun through four phases, sunrise, midday, sunset and night, pairing French perfumery with te ao Māori.
