Kowtow was founded in Wellington in 2006 with a clear purpose: to prove that ethical fashion can be beautiful, wearable, and modern. Every piece is designed in the Wellington workroom and crafted from certified Fairtrade organic cotton, entirely plastic-free, using shell, nut, and hemp buttons and natural rubber instead of synthetic elastic. Collections take over 18 months to develop, with each stage approached mindfully in close partnership with manufacturers in India. Kowtow is not just a sustainable brand; it is one of New Zealand's most respected fashion labels, full stop. The quality and design speak for themselves. The Oversized Boxy T-Shirt is our Kowtow best seller by a wide margin. On the womens side it sits alongside the Wide Leg Pants, the Asymmetric Top, the Maker Long Sleeve Shirt and the Composure Cardigan. For men we carry the Staple and Box tees, the Henry and Ralph shirts, Craft Jeans and Theo Pants.
