Gramicci was born in 1982 when Yosemite rock climber Mike Graham started making his own climbing shorts and pants in California. His innovations, a diamond-shaped gusset for full flexibility and an integrated nylon webbing belt for one-handed adjustment, created what became known as the G-Pant. By the mid-80s, surfers and skaters had adopted the hard-wearing pants with the little running man logo, and by the 90s Gramicci had become a streetwear staple in Tokyo. Today the brand bridges outdoor performance and everyday style like few others can, with a following that spans climbers, city dwellers, and everyone in between. At Wally we stock Gramicci pants, shorts, and tops for those who appreciate heritage design built to move. Shop Gramicci NZ in store at Takapuna or online with free delivery over $80.

The Gramicci range at Wally

Pants are where we start every season. The Gramicci Pant is the original straight-fit twill, and the Voyager is a lighter nylon version that dries fast and packs small. We usually run a Wide Pant too, plus shorts in summer. On top of that there's tees, hoodies, jackets like the Twill Around Jacket, and the Multi Side Bag and Tote Pack for carry. Colours rotate every drop, so if your size is showing, grab it.

Fit and sizing

Every Gramicci pant has the integrated webbing belt you can cinch one-handed, and the diamond gusset in the crotch that lets you move without the seat pulling tight. The belt makes sizing forgiving - if you're between sizes the waist will still dial in. Cuts run relaxed through the seat and thigh. Not sure? Message us or call into the store and try them on.

Gramicci FAQ

Is Wally an authorised Gramicci stockist in New Zealand?
Yes. Our Gramicci stock comes through the brand's NZ distributor, ordered fresh each season.

Where can I try Gramicci on in Auckland?
Our store on Hurstmere Road, Takapuna. Open seven days.

What's the difference between the Gramicci Pant and the Voyager Pant?
Same shape, different fabric. The Gramicci Pant is cotton twill, the Voyager is lighter nylon that dries quickly.

Who started Gramicci?
Gramicci was founded in 1982 by Yosemite rock climber Mike Graham, a member of the Stonemasters. The brand is best known for free-moving climbing pants and shorts built around a gusseted crotch and an integrated webbing belt.

What makes Gramicci pants different?
The diamond-shaped crotch gusset allows full 180-degree flexibility, an idea borrowed from high-kicking karate trousers. An integrated nylon cinch belt and elastic waistband adjust with one hand, and the G-Pant is made from organic cotton twill with reinforced lock-stitched seams.

Do you ship Gramicci within NZ?
Yes, free over $80, and we ship to 30+ countries too.
