Description
The RB8551 is a slim metal oval built in two layers. A fine bar arcs over the top of each lens and runs straight across the bridge, sitting just above a thin rim that holds the lens, with adjustable nose pads behind and slim flat metal arms.
This is the gunmetal colourway, a cool grey metal on the brow bar and arms, with a fine black rim around solid dark grey lenses and clear tips. The grey is an even tint with no gradient or mirror. The frame is metal, and the lens is not polarised.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
