Description

The Aviator Max takes the teardrop shape Ray-Ban first drew for pilots in 1937 and sets it in a flat, broader metal rim. The double bridge stays, with adjustable nose pads below and straight metal temples running back to the tips.

This is Gunmetal, a cool mid grey, with black tips and a soft, slightly smoky blue lens that sits even from edge to edge with no gradient or mirror. Grey metal and blue lenses keep the whole pair cool in tone. The lenses are not polarised, and this colourway comes in 58mm only.

About Ray-Ban
Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a commission from the US Army Air Corps: build a lens pilots could trust against glare at altitude. The result became the Aviator, and the Wayfarer followed in 1952, two of the most recognised and most copied designs in eyewear history. Nearly a century on, the icons remain in production largely unchanged while a new generation of designs, from bio-based frames to the sculptural Puffer series, keeps the catalogue moving. Few brands span military kit, film wardrobes and everyday essentials in the same breath.
