Description
The Lateralis is a high wrap sport frame with wide, deep-set lenses in a full rim, a keyhole bridge and small round rivets at the outer corners of the front. Behind the hinge each arm steps down in a sharp kink before running back, and the rear half is cut through with geometric windows.
This is matte black from end to end, with a silver-toned Oakley icon on each arm. Prizm Black is a dark, near-neutral grey with a light silver sheen on the outside, made for bright light, so the whole pair reads as one dark, quiet piece.
They are polarised, so glare coming off water, road and glass is cut rather than just dimmed. The frame is O Matter, Oakley's own lightweight frame material, and the lens measures 60mm across.

About Oakley
Oakley started in 1975 in Jim Jannard's California garage, selling motocross grips made from a material he invented and named Unobtanium. Grips became goggles, goggles became sunglasses, and by the 1990s designs like the Eye Jacket and M Frame had rewritten performance eyewear. The obsessions have never changed: material science and optics, from O Matter frames to Prizm lenses tuned to sharpen contrast in specific conditions.
