Description
The Gibston XL is the larger build of the Gibston, Oakley's rectangular wrap. A straight brow runs across the front, the lens curves back towards the hinge, and the thick, square temples carry the Oakley icon on the side. Oakley shaped it to sit comfortably under a cap, with the lens extended out at the sides for more coverage.
This one is matte black from the front through to the tips, with the icon in gunmetal. Prizm Jade is a green mirror that shifts to violet along the edges, with a soft violet tint when you look through it from behind.
The frame is O Matter, Oakley's own lightweight frame material, and the lens measures 62mm across. These are not polarised, so Prizm is working on contrast alone.

About Oakley
Oakley started in 1975 in Jim Jannard's California garage, selling motocross grips made from a material he invented and named Unobtanium. Grips became goggles, goggles became sunglasses, and by the 1990s designs like the Eye Jacket and M Frame had rewritten performance eyewear. The obsessions have never changed: material science and optics, from O Matter frames to Prizm lenses tuned to sharpen contrast in specific conditions.
