Former was launched in 2017 by professional surfer Dane Reynolds, alongside Craig Anderson and skateboarder Austyn Gillette. After parting ways with Quiksilver, Reynolds wanted to build something independently, creating clothing that he and his friends actually wanted to wear. The result is a brand rooted in surf and skate culture but free from the cliches of either world. Former's aesthetic sits at the intersection of art, music, and riding, with a refined, understated edge that feels grown up without being boring. The Former range at Wally

The Ag Raglan Waffle is the best seller, clearly ahead of everything else in the range. Shorts are the other strength. The Reynolds 21" Shorts and their denim version both sell steadily, and the Swans swim shorts have done the same. On the tee wall the Oscillating and Proscription prints lead, while the Franchise Waffle tees carry the same waffle texture as the Raglan in short and long sleeve versions.

Former shorts

Lengths run from the Swans 18" swim short up to the Reynolds 21" in plain and denim, with the System 19" and Militant 18.5" in between. The Swans Cargo 21" adds pockets to the swim option.
