The Luna Lane story
Luna Lane was started in 2021 by Sydney-based best friends Kate and Laura, two mums who set out to make fashion that works around real life. The brand describes its approach as slow fashion: small-batch, limited edition pieces designed to hold a permanent place in your wardrobe rather than chase a season. Natural fibres do the heavy lifting, with linen, cotton and French terry towelling across the range, and many designs are cut to be bump and breastfeeding friendly without looking like it.
What makes it special
Luna Lane lives in the gap between basics and statement pieces. The graphic tees (The Champagne Tee and The Rose Tee are the recognisable ones) carry just enough personality to lift a plain outfit, while the terry towelling pants and skirts are the kind of thing you put on at home and end up wearing to the cafe. Because drops are small-batch, colourways sell out and generally do not come back.
Sizing and fit
Luna Lane uses letter sizing from XS to XL. The fit philosophy is relaxed and generous. Their own guidance on The Marley Pants is that they are generous in size and to size down if you are unsure, and that holds for most of the French terry pieces. The tees fit true with a slightly relaxed body. If you are between sizes and want a neater look, take the smaller size.
